Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC "Sassicaia" - Tenuta San Guido

The wine that pioneered the Super Tuscan movement — a Cabernet-based icon from the gravel-rich soils of Bolgheri, with a sub-appellation named after it alone.

2022 Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC "Sassicaia" - Tenuta San Guido

One of the most famous Italian wines, Sassicaia! In the 1960s, this estate achieved iconic status when it produced the first Super Tuscan. As a producer of quality wines, Italy lagged far behind a country like France. The arrival of Sassicaia changed this. Suddenly, in the early 1970s, there stood a wine that could effortlessly take on the very greatest wines from Bordeaux and even surpass them. The international press pounced on this newcomer and couldn't stop talking about it. The rest is history.
