Very exclusive Jeroboam from Château Margaux. This Premier Grand Cru Classé is from one of the most famous wineries in the world. Around 1800, the Château was purchased by Bertrand Douat and in 1810 transformed by Guy-Louis Combes into the château of today. In 1925, wine merchant Fernand Ginestet bought his first share in the estate, and in the years that followed, he acquired full ownership. In 1949, the Château was transferred to his son Pierre Ginestet. Due to financial problems, the château was sold in the 1970s to the French group Félix Potin.
In the years following the Second World War, the Château could no longer live up to the high expectations placed upon a Premier Cru. In the late 1980s, investments were reinvested in the neglected vineyards and wine cellars. The Château has a total of 89 hectares of vineyards. Of these, 77 hectares are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Merlot (20%), and a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The remaining 12 hectares are planted with Sauvignon Blanc. Currently, Château Margaux is known as one of the best Premier Crus of Bordeaux.
